Privacy Policy
Moving to Portland (MTP) respects and protects the privacy of the individuals that use the MTP Web site. Individually identifiable information about you is not willfully disclosed to any third party without first receiving your permission, as explained in this privacy policy ("Privacy Policy").
Disclaimer
MTP maintains its web sites on an on-going basis, but it does not represent, guarantee, or warrant that all information provided is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for the viewer's purposes. MTP specifically disclaims any and all liability for claims or damages that may result from its Web sites or information contained therein, including any Web sites maintained by third parties and linked to the MTP Web site, for which responsibility lies with the entity providing the information. A link from MTP Web sites in no way implies authorization or endorsement of that site by MTP.
Moving to Portland and Cookies
A cookie is a file that identifies you as a unique user and most Web sites use cookies. Cookies are used to store information about a user or computer’s Web use so sites can customize that user’s experience, including what ads they see. So-called persistent or tracking cookies are data placed not by the site visited, but by other third-party Web sites that have placed content or advertising on the visited Web page. These types of cookies can stay on computers for long periods of time and gather data about surfing habits, and have long raised hackles among those concerned about privacy online.
MTP does not use cookies. Be aware, however, that a link to another Web site from the MTP site most likely will use cookies.
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.
What Information Do We Collect?
From time to time we may request that you provide us with certain personal information about you in connection with various services offered on our site. MTP does not collect any personal information about you (such as your name, e-mail address, etc.) except when you specifically and knowingly provide such information such as signing up for our newsletter or opening an account when you elect to use our Search for Homes tool.
MTP lists (to include name, e-mail address, telephone, home address, etc.) are never sold, rented, leased, traded, swapped, exchanged, or bartered to anyone. We don't like to receive junk mail, and know you don't either.
Telephone
When you give information on the "Find a Home In Portland" form, you are asked for a "phone" number and "the best time to call you". We asked for this information so that we can call you if necessary in order to clarify any item on the form or to make certain you did receive the listings we e-mailed you.
We do not abuse the telephone calling privilege and most likely you will not receive any telephone calls from us. However in exchange for the service of providing you "free" listings without any fees or obligation, we believe asking for this information is a reasonable request.
Links to Other Sites − No Paid Ads Accepted at Site
The sites linked to by MTP are developed by people over whom MTP exercises no control. These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information. We do not accept any monies from recommended linked sites. So when you observe a link in MTP which we recommend you visit such as a mortgage broker, we do not have any financial arrangements (i.e., fee splitting, commission, etc.) with the site.
With Whom Does Moving to Portland Share Information?
MTP may share information about you with business partners. However, we only divulge aggregate information about our users and will not share personally identifiable information with any business partner without your express consent. For example, we may disclose how frequently the average MTP user visits MTP, or which other query words are most often used with the query phrase "portland real estate." Please be aware, however, that we will release specific personal information about you if required to do so in order to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order.
Your Consent and Changes to the Privacy Policy
By using the MTP web site, you consent to the collection and use of your information as we have outlined in this policy. MTP may decide to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
Who can I ask if I have additional questions?
Feel free to contact us any time and we'll answer any additional questions you may have.
