Sellwood Lofts Project Breaks Ground
It has been two years since Loren began working on getting the necessary permits from the various federal, state, county, and city agencies for removal of contaminated materials from the former plating facility. The site was cleaned and approved by the EPA and Oregon Department of Environment Quality in March 2001. Now the project is underway. The building is a mixed-use commercial structure of approximately 30,000 square feet with 9,000 square feet of walk-up retail on the ground floor. The Multnomah County Library will be leasing 4,300 square feet for the Sellwood Branch Library. The upper floors of the building include ten two-level townhouses and six one-level lofts. Occupancy is scheduled for late Fall 2001. |
