We begin our tour of NE Fremont Street in the Irvington neighborhood. The north side of the Irvington neighborhood borders NE Fremont from NE 7th Avenue to NE 26th Avenue.

Irving Park is a 16 acre park - the north side borders NE Fremont for a few blocks. The park includes softball, baseball, and soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts, 4 lighted tennis courts, playground, wading pool, picnic tables, paths, and restrooms.

This historic building is the home to four cafes, a barber shop, two gift shops, and a children's clothing store.

The cafes include sidewalk tables.

A Montessari School is just around the corner on NE 14th Avenue.

The block between 14th and 15th avenues have a number of stores. The main one is Nature's Northwest - it is a full service supermarket specializing in organic and nature foods.

Nature's Northwest has a small cafe on one end of the store. You can drink your latte outdoors.

Pictured here is Brian, the manager of Eggcetra's. It doesn't look much from the outside, but the cafe is a popular breakfast and lunch spot with quality food.

It seems that Irvington has a number of lost dogs.

The area between NE 16th Avenue and NE 23th Avenue is void of commercial establishments but loaded with beautiful homes.

Marco Cafe and Expresso Bar is on the corner of NE 24th Avenue and NE Fremont Street in the Alameda neighborhood.

Perry's is a large restaurant on the opposite corner of Marco's (NE 24th Avenue). It is only open for dinner.

Alameda Elementary School is located at 2732 NE Fremont.

The Beaumont Willshire neighborhood is one of four neighborhood that runs through NE Fremont Street from NE 7th Avenue to NE 65th Avenue.

This brick structure with a tile roof is the home to the Beaumont Market, an insurance office, florist, bagel shop, and a Cajan restaurant.

The Pizzicato at 4217 NE Fremont Street serves gourmet pizza.

An old fashion hardware store where someone actually waits on you. It's located at 4303 NE Fremont Street.

Brian, the owner of the Savory Restaurant in front of his new establishment in the 4300 block of NE Fremont. Construction was under way in October 2002 and he expects to open before Thanksgiving. The lure of the large deck for outside dining caught our eyes.

We caught this elderly gentlemen sipping his draft on a beautiful October day observing the walkers and traffic on Fremont. Mc Peets Pub is located at the corner of 45th and Fremont.

The Red Fig is located at 4537 NE Fremont Street.

NE Fremont is home to an old-fashioned auto repair shop.

These six row homes between 46th and 47th were constructed in 2001 and sold quickly. Situationed between the row homes is a stone craftsmen home.

Between 47th and 49th are a number of cafes and shops. One of our favorite restaurants is the Alameda Brewing located at 4765 NE Fremont.

The Leaf and Bean Cafe in the Park Rose neighborhood (NE 48th) is one of the last commercial establishments on the east end of NE Fremont Street.
